Please, no doggies who are constant pullers on the leash. :) I was raised with a menagerie of animals, from fish in the pond and aquariums to frogs, gerbils, guinea pigs, rabbits, cats and of course, dogs. I've also helped former roommates take care of their two dogs, both during the two years they lived here and when I would dogsit for them. It was always my goal to have a dog as an adult, but I thought I would have to wait until I had a place with a secure back garden/yard. Until such time, I was the one my friends called on to dogsit for them, and I loved it every time. June of 2015 changed that when I took in a stray who followed a friend home. She changed my life, and we both saved one another. Since then, I've discovered more and more that I'm good with dogs and (usually) they are with me. I'm the person you see at parties getting down on the floor with the dog of the house. I'm perfectly fine just being down on their level and quiet with them and I think that is what they appreciate most. After a long career in I.T., I am now self-employed as a Voice Artist, and I work from home as I built a sound booth here. As any newly self-employed person knows, finances can be and usually are rather tight. When I saw the ad on Facebook, I thought this might be a perfect way to help give back to dogs and their companions (for all of the love and support they have given me, particularly, of course, Bailey) and to earn a little extra as I grow my business. I have no formal training, but I can promise patience, attention, playtime and companionship for your friend. I have a large, dog-friendly home which they are free to roam. Usually, they particularly like running the long hallway as we play together. For any bathing, I use only hypoallergenic, paraben and sulphate free shampoos. Walks are generally around the neighbourhood which has plenty of trees and grass. I will negotiate a reduced rate for two dogs. I have a regular repeat client with two dogs so I'm very used to this.
